Easy Ways to Leave a Legacy

Will or Trust

A Will or Trust is the most common way you can make a bequest to further our mission of empowering Native American individuals and communities to attain self-sufficiency. You can designate a percentage of your estate or a dollar amount, or even a piece of real estate. Let’s talk.

Life Insurance

Naming St. Labre Indian School as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy is an easy way to impact future generations of Native American children and youth. Let’s talk.

Charitable Gift Annuity

A St. Labre Charitable Gift Annuity is an easy way for you to receive fixed-rate income, either monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, and allows for potential tax savings during your lifetime. Your income will depend on your age, the date you establish your annuity and the amount of your annuity. At the end of your life, the remainder of your charitable gift annuity will benefit the children at St. Labre. One and two-life charitable gift annuities are available for individuals 65 and over. Let’s talk.

Retirement Plan

By naming St. Labre as a beneficiary of your pension plan, 401(k), IRA or self-employed retirement plan you can make a significant charitable gift, reduce your tax burden, and increase the amount of your estate available to family and loved ones. Let’s talk.

Other Ways

There are several other ways you can leave a legacy gift to our Northern Cheyenne and Crow children to ensure they get the education and care they need to build lives of promise, hope, and self-sufficiency, including:

  • Give It Twice Trust
You provide your children with a stream of income while making a gift to charity.
  • Donor Advised Fund
By naming St. Labre as a beneficiary you can make a final impact through your Donor Advised Fund.
  • Other Valuable Assets
You can empower Native American children to attain self-sufficiency, by naming St. Labre as the beneficiary of your mineral rights or other valuable assets.

Join our Legacy Society
of the Sacred Circle

Membership in the Sacred Circle Legacy Society is reserved for those individuals who have remembered St. Labre in their estate plans, and making a planned gift automatically makes you a member.

If you’ve already named St. Labre as a beneficiary or made another type of planned giving arrangement, please let us know of your generosity so we can add you to our Sacred Circle Legacy Society and thank you personally for your legacy of care and blessing. While your estate gift will remain unspecified, your membership in the Sacred Circle Legacy Society will encourage others to remember St. Labre in their estate planning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because of your generous planned gift, Native American children – some of them living in poverty or coming from tumultuous home environments – will not only complete high school, they will be going to college, find meaningful employment, and contribute to their communities. Your enduring legacy will ensure these children receive an excellent education — academically, spiritually and culturally — well into the future.

[OR] B. the sum of $. [OR] C. & of all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate.”

There are many different types of trusts that can serve a variety of purposes. The advice of an attorney and qualified financial planner is necessary to assess your situation and decide which trust is right for you.
