No End in Sight to Water Crisis

Engineers are continuing to seek out cost-effective solutions to St. Labre’s current water well crisis. Two entirely new high-volume wells are being developed that will be capable of producing more than 100 gallons of water per minute. St. Labre’s primary water well collapsed several months ago and the back-up well is now operating under less-than-ideal circumstances. Should this well fail, St. Labre will have no choice but to suspend operations. It requires approximately 60,000 gallons each day to supply the water needs of the more than 900 students and staff at St. Labre. This includes 92 housing units, 15 campus school buildings, 3 cooling towers, 3 boilers, and also all emergency fire department needs.
