St. Labre Indian
School. Help keep the miracle alive for Native American Children

News - St. Paul's Mission & School

In 2008 St. Paul's Mission and School on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in north central Montana became a smoking ruin after arsonists struck. St. Paul's is the only other Indian Catholic School in the Diocese of Great Falls/ Billings, which takes in the vast area of the eastern half of Montana. St. Paul's Mission is a sister school to St. Labre

In 2009 fire struck again in the boiler room of the tribal building being used as a temporary classroom for the kids.

Since then the kids have been attending class in an old trailer that had been converted into a small church. They have been anxiously waiting for the completion of the new school under construction.

Classrooms seperated by a blanket in the temporary singlewide trailer.

Sharing one classroom, separated only by an old bed sheet hung from a rope.

First-grade class - the kids made a game out of watching their pencils and crayons roll down the floor!

That’s how it’s been for the girls and boys at St. Paul’s Mission School. They’ve anxiously waited for their new school to open ever since their old school burned to the ground.

A classroom near completion in the new building.

These kids don’t even have a single computer anywhere in the school! Nor do they have equipment for their science labs.

The library construction is almost done...but few books, they were destroyed in the fire.
